Frequently asked questions
Straightforward information about molded-in felt, chair fit, schools, ordering and how DuraGlides compare with adhesive alternatives.
What makes DuraGlides different from ordinary felt pads?
DuraGlides have industrial-strength felt molded into a gray nylon glide housing. Unlike peel-and-stick felt pads, they do not rely on an adhesive sticker stuck directly to the chair-foot bottom.
Do DuraGlides help reduce classroom noise?
They are designed to help soften scraping sounds caused by chairs moving across suitable hard floors. Actual noise reduction depends on chair design, flooring and room conditions.
Are DuraGlides hard to install?
No glue or special tools are required. The housing snaps onto a compatible chair foot. Check that it seats correctly before the chair is used.
What chair sizes will they fit?
Published compatibility is for chair base sizes from 7/8 inch to 1-1/4 inches. The shape of the chair foot also matters, so please contact us if your furniture is unusual.
Are DuraGlides latex-free?
Yes. DuraGlides are listed as latex-free.
Can school districts use purchase orders?
Yes. Schools and districts may request quotes and submit purchase orders. Please include the number needed, shipping ZIP code and school or district details.
How are DuraGlides packaged?
Available pack quantities are 60, 100, 240, 500 and 1,000 DuraGlides.
Are DuraGlides designed for every floor surface?
They are intended to help protect suitable indoor floors. Floors and finishes vary, so test a glide on an inconspicuous area and follow your flooring manufacturer’s maintenance guidance.
Are they completely invisible?
They are low-profile and discreet, but the gray glide housing can still be seen when looking closely at the bottom of the chair.
Do they eliminate floor waxing or cleaning?
No. They can help limit chair-related wear and scuffs, potentially reducing some corrective floor-care needs, but they do not replace routine cleaning or maintenance.
